Provider Relations Assistant

Provider Relations Department in Life and Health Division

Nature of Work

Under the direct supervision of the President and in accordance with established policies and procedures,
this position assists with the department with preparing correspondence and reports in support of contract
negotiations and credentialing activities. The Provider Relations Assistant also addresses inquiries and
issues to facilitate resolution in accordance with health plan guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts correspondence, reports, memos meeting minutes, surveys and related documents for
    management’s review and final disposition

  • Responds to inquiries related to provider relations, in person, via email or by phone

  • Assists with reviewing and confirming reimbursements and fees due

  • Maintains data for reporting, tracking inquiries resolved and contract review dates

  • Maintains department records and documents, electronically or hard copy form

  • Organizes and facilitates meetings in person and virtually

  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with provider points of contact

  • Assists with provider credentialing and contracting activities

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in a healthcare environment preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills, written and verbal

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement, exhibiting professionalism in work ethics and
    personal appearance

  • Ability to engage and collaborate positively in a diverse work environment

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, motivation and commitment in work ethics
