Commercial Lines Representative (Guam)

Commercial Lines Department in Property and Casualty Division

Responsibilities 
​
  • Processing commercial business policies and endorsements

  • Performing all aspects of personal lines underwriting

  • Assisting walk-in customers with insurance needs and providing quotations

  • Answering telephone inquiries regarding all lines of insurance

  • Communicating with brokers and/or agents

  • Conducting renewal reviews of policies to update account information and identifying new exposures

  • Determining rates and premium for all lines of insurance with exception of those requiring management or AIG referral

  • Preparing insurance proposals for prospective clients

  • Effectively closing sales and completing account work

  • Processing commercial policies (new and renewal) including special coverage and marine​

  • Completing all required Insurance Company forms such as Coverage Summary, Casualty Summary Sheet, Excess Liability Summary Sheet and Automobile Summary Sheet to evaluate risk for new and renewing clients

  • Reviewing files for loss history and providing loss runs

  • Researching competitive products to identify strengths and weaknesses

  • Educating customers on product features, benefits and cost savings

  • Issuing certificates and binders such as Automobile Insurance Certificates and Certificates of Insurance

  • Maintaining consistent contact with all major accounts

  • Scheduling survey of risks with company appraisers and accompanying them if necessary

  • Attending staff meetings regularly to reinforce goals and update procedures and improving operation

  • Performing clerical duties such as faxing, filing, typing documents

  • Handling Workers Compensation adjustments and communicating with Department of Labor

  • Assisting in collection of accounts

  • Backing up Telephone Operator/Receptionist when necessary

  • Maintaining files

  • Any other job related duties as assigned by supervisor
     

Requirements

​​

  • High School graduate or equivalent required

  • Two years in auto and home insurance experience preferred

  • Must have excellent communication skills in verbal and written form

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (ex: Outlook Express, Microsoft Word/Excel)

  • Experience with operating Xerox machine (ex: Copy, Fax and Scan)
