Administrative Assistant

Life Department in Life and Health Division

Responsibilities which include but not limited to:

  • Perform overall administrative tasks necessary to support the functions of the Life Department

  • Assist in scheduling of service visits and open enrollments

  • Compose and distribute correspondence and other related materials, and collection of data and statistics geared to the completion of monthly reports

  • Provide assistance to Life Department Manager in updating presentations and preparing materials
    necessary for Life Department activities.

  • Assist customers with policy changes and Claims inquiries and submissions

  • Explain eligibility requirements and plan benefits

  • Record customer and provider encounters in the call tracking system

  • Provide customers and providers with claim status and explanation of coverage determinations

  • Coordinate with various departments to complete tasks, as necessary

  • Provide specialized service to group HR departments

  • Perform follow-up calls or reply to emails to accounts or policyholders to ensure service necessary
    has been completed thoroughly and in a timely manner

  • Drop off materials/supplies to groups in support of the group’s service needs or open enrollment
    season or health fairs, as needed

  • Any other job related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Prior work experience in office administration is preferred

  • Excellent customer service skills, including written and verbal communication 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite particularly in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Highly organized and dedicated with a positive attitude 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines.
