Accounting Representative / Cashier 

Accounting Department in Property and Casualty Division

Responsibilities 

​

• Responsible for all direct incoming payments for Property & Casualty, Medical and Life Insurance premiums. Issue receipt for each payment and reconcile daily collections. 

• Distribute payments for medical or life premiums to appropriate departments

• Operate credit card terminal and responsible to close all daily batches

• Responsible for primary cash box and balance cash box at the end of the business day.

• Maintain filing of official receipts and tally sheets

• Assist walk-in clients with basic inquiries regarding their accounts

• Handle update of Calvo’s Insurance Underwriters branch daily collections to ensure all transactions are posted correctly

• Answer customer telephone calls when available

• Other job related duties as assigned

Position Requirements​​

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Property and life insurance work background preferred

• Excellent customer service skills

• Reliable and dependable

• Good command of the English language in verbal and written form

• Experience with Microsoft Office (ex: Outlook Express, Microsoft Word/Excel) 

• Basic computer and typing skills

• Must be punctual at all times and able to put in flexible working hours
