Accounting Representative 1
Accounting Department in Life and Health Division

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Processing and posting journal vouchers for company’s accounting general ledger into accounting software.

Reconciling bank statements, credit card charges, and daily financial records to ensure accuracy.

Monitors and run monthly premium and loss reports, analyze discrepancies according to procedures
-
Coordinates communications with the accounting personnel of the company’s general agents to analyze and resolve various accounting issues.

Conducts research and compiles information regarding various accounting transactions for the general agents and for other projects as requested.

Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting audit preparations.

Delivers and picks up documents to and from the general agent offices, attorneys, banks and other local establishments as required.

Analyzes financial data using the principles of accounting, and prepares computer–generated reports accordingly using spreadsheet and/or word processing software, or the typewriter.

Filing, scanning, and organizing financial documents to maintain compliance and easy retrieval.

Interacting with vendors, clients, and staff to resolve recon discrepancies.

Setting up meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating appointments.
-
Preparing reports, proofreading documents, and handling mail distribution.

Adheres to the company’s policies and procedures regarding compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) and amendments thereto. Accordingly, takes strict precautions to safeguard the confidentiality, privacy and security of the health information of the company’s clients, and advises the management regarding actual or potential infringements of the associated policies and procedures accordingly.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required
-
Prior general accounting work experience preferred
-
Experience with Medical System and/or Accounting software preferred
-
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) WLT System Software, MAS90 preferred
-
Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills, written and verbal
-
Efficient operations of basic office equipment (computer, phone, fax, copier)
-
Ability to engage and collaborate positively in a diverse work environment
-
Ability to demonstrate initiative, motivation and commitment in work ethics
