Accountant I
Accounting Department in Property and Casualty Division

Responsibilities
-
Conduct sub-agent account analysis on demand.
-
Entertain all sub-agent account inquiries daily (walk-in and telephone).
-
Prepare and transmit Agent/Broker Statements monthly.
-
Responsible for all sub-agents payments. Receipt and update to sub-agent A/R.
-
Review and update all sub-agent account adjustments (payment/invoices/credit and debit memos).
-
Prepare and maintain monthly Business Written Reports (BWR) to be reviewed and submitted to
Accounting Manager.
-
Review, analyze and record P & C daily cash receipts on Sage100.
-
Prepare and submit various recurring journal entries for P & C involving Saipan, sub-agent accrual,
NUFIC (carrier) business, Auto-debit and P.A.I.D. business.
-
Prepare and submit journal entries for credit card and checking/savings refunds.
-
Prepare NUFIC’s monthly premium payable report.
-
Handle premium payables to other carriers for P&C.
-
Scan monthly reports to remote desktop for various reconciliation references.
-
Prepare and submit journal entries to credit sub-agent’s accounts for commission due on paid
premiums each month.
-
Prepare and submit journal entries to record discount on marine premium paid each month.
-
Prepare and submit other journal entries deemed necessary affecting sub-agent accounts.
-
Prepare P&C monthly bank account reconciliations.
-
Assist in yearly audit and prepare P&C schedules related to agents and carriers.
-
Assist and prepares check as needed daily.
-
Assist in coordinating and maintaining file retention for Accounting Department.
-
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the job at any time.

Performs other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements
-
Bachelor's of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or equivalent with two years
of general accounting work experience
-
Property and life insurance work background preferred
-
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
-
4D Property & Casualty System Software and Sage100 Accounting software knowledge preferred
-
Excellent people skills
-
Good command of the English language
