Account Executive (Guam)

Life & Health / Sales & Marketing Department

Nature of Work

Under the direct supervision of the Health Plan Administrator, this role is responsible for developing customer relationships to promote the SelectCare health insurance product, supporting the implementation of a comprehensive sales and marketing plan for new accounts and providing consistent service to members.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
  • Prospects market and professional networks to obtains sales leads and makes contact to establish dialogue for sales opportunities

  • Acquires information for use in developing a competitive proposal

  • Meets established quota of sales and service calls per day

  • Develops effective working relationships with key management of all accounts

  • Prepares and delivers presentations to employees of accounts

  • Explains benefits to current and new members

  • Handles customer complaints and directs concerns to appropriate department for resolution

  • Provides consistent servicing to established accounts on a monthly basis

Administrative
  • Keeps informed of industry news and trends, competitors, and relevant information

  • Creates and maintains sales forecasting reports

  • Coordinates and manages the preparation and retention of account contracts

  • Coordinates and manages the transmittals of required forms and supporting documentation

  • Coordinates billing and reconciliation activities between accounts and group administration

  • Provides guidance to assist members seeking coverage on or off island

  • Assists with resolving unpaid claims for members and providers; communicates with members on resolution

  • Maintains consistent servicing of existing accounts on a monthly basis

  • Manages the renewal of accounts

  • Prepares and submits weekly calendars, activity reports and other reports as requested by managers

  • Documents account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers

  • Attends trade shows, conferences and exhibits to promote products or to learn about industry developments

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field, preferred; or equivalent experience in Sales and Marketing and/or Account Management

  • Must be able to obtain appropriate insurance license within 3 months of employment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to speak in front of groups
  • Excellent time management skills with a results-driven work ethic
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
